With the word “ink” in its title, I firmly believe the Inktober challenge is meant to be completed only through traditional art techniques. Inktober 2024 marks the second time I’ve finished this challenge. Two major differences from last year are: 1. All sketches for 2024 feature characters from Speaker Red; and 2. For the first time, I sketched directly with an irreversible medium—the BIC pen. IPreviously, I always began with a pencil sketch, but this year for some reasons, I decided to draw directly with the BIC pen, without any rough pencil outlines. The results are messy and honestly pretty shitty as expected, but I see it as a memorable leap that I took. At least to certain extent, it cured my OCD.
All images were drawn in an A5-sized sketchbook and scanned using the CamScanner app (and compressed).
